These perforations cause a healing cascade that produces new collagen and elastin resulting in firmer, healthier skin. We combine this with our high potency Microchannel Delivery Solution, post care Cellular Renewal Serum and Healing Accelerator specifically formulated to trigger the collagen-producing cells in your body to go into overdrive and create permanent new healthy skin!

In the last few years, Microchanneling has made a huge splash because of how effective it is and how quickly it works. With as few as one treatment, Microchanneling has been shown to improve the quality of the skin. A series of treatments will improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, age-spots/sunspots, laxity and stretch marks. And it also stimulates hair regrowth for balding men and women!

Microchanneling FAQ's

What is Microchanneling / CIT?

CIT stands for Collagen Induction Therapy. Microchanneling and CIT are the same thing. It is a break through remedy for the treatment of wrinkles and pigmentation, and scars. Clinical studies have shown that micro-needling produces channels in the epidermis which sufficiently stimulate the body's natural defenses to repair the produce concentrated amounts of of collagen and proteins to the treated areas of the skin. This results in the skins thickness being increased. Which visibly reduces scars, minimizes wrinkles and softening of the complexion.

The treatment introduces fine needles to the skin to create microscopic channels. In doing so the epidermis is encouraged to produce new collagen and elastin which generates new skin cells. The skin then becomes thicker, plumper and more youthful. Serums that are applied tho the skin afterwards are also up to 1000 more times more effective as the pores are opened and the product is absorbed deep into the skin.

What can microchanneling / CIT help with?

* Wrinkles and Fine Lines

* Sagging and Thin Skin

* Scars from Acne, Chicken Pox, burns and from surgery

* Enlarged Pores

* Sun Damage

What can I expect?

We will begin by applying a topical anesthetic to the treatment area. Most people don't need it, but I want you to be as comfortable as possible. We will remove the anesthetic cream, and cleanse the areas to be treated. You will have your treatment. Most people will describe it on a tolerance level from 1-10 at a 3. It is uncomfortable, but tolerable. Some areas are more sensitive than other areas, like around the eyes will be more sensitive than the cheeks. You will be red and a little swollen after the treatment, but that will go away in a few hours. The next day you might still have a little pinkness, but it can be covered with makeup. Don't have this treatment right before a big event. ( Clients with very sensitive skin can experience redness and swelling for about 2 full days). So I advise you to plan on that scenario.

Is there any downtime?

Most people experience no downtime after microchanneling. Some people have initial redness like a mild sunburn for a day or two, which can easily be covered with makeup (you must wait 4 hours to apply makeup). Post treatment, the skin will feel warm, tight and itchy for a short while. This is a normal response. Occasionally, the client might have some light peeling if the patient tends to have a more sensitive skin type.

How many treatments will I need?

That varies on the reason you are having the microchanneling done in the first place, and the severity of your situation. I am happy to discuss this with you at a service consultation. Typically, we would recommend 3-5 treatments spaced 4-5 weeks apart.

Are there any side effects from this treatment?

Side effects and risks are minimal with this treatment and typically include minor flaking or dryness of the skin, and some mild crusting. Since this is a non-ablative treatment, hyper-pigmentation or darkening of the skin area treated is highly unlikely.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for this treatment?

Sure... you don't want to do anything that would cause your skin to be sensitive. If it is already sensitive before we start then we cannot give you a quality treatment. So, no retinoid products for an entire week before your treatment. No Accutane 2 months beforehand. No tanning in a tanning bed or laying out in the sun a week before a treatment either. It really is best to schedule a service consultation so we can go over the procedure, your skin care issues and make sure this is the right service for you. Then I go over the risk, benefits and how many treatments I think you would need. Then you decide if it is right for you, as always , there is no pressure.
